Good Luck at STYSA Presidents Cup State Victoria Fire 11G!

The Victoria Youth Soccer Organization (VYSO) is proud to announce that our U11 girls select team, Victoria Fire 11G, will be playing in the South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA) Presidents Cup State Finals!

This is the first year this group of girls has been together as a select (competitive) team and for them to qualify for the state finals in Presidents Cup is a huge accomplishment!

Victoria Fire 11G has had a great first year! They played in the WDDOA Alpha division. In their fall season, they had 7 wins and 1 loss. For their spring season, they continued to dominate and took 1st in their bracket with 5 wins and 1 tie. They will move up to the WDDOA Challenger division this fall.

The team decided to challenge themselves and entered the STYSA Presidents Cup, which is the second highest cup event offered by STYSA. They were prepared to face some tough opponents but were ready to hone their skills on the field. They tied their first game, won their second game, and lost their third game. They had to win their fourth, and final, game to earn a spot into the state finals. These girls did not disappoint and won that game 4-1!

This is the second time one of our teams has qualified into the Presidents Cup State Finals. The last time was when our U19B team, Victoria Fire 99, made it to state four years ago.

STYSA Presidents Cup State Finals will take place Saturday, May 21, and Sunday, May 22, at the Veterans Memorial Park & Athletic Complex in College Station. Our team will play two games on Saturday and one game on Sunday. If you are in the College Station area, please go cheer these girls on!

  • Sunday, May 22, 10:00 AM Lonestar 11G Elite NTH B v VYSO Victoria Fire 11G

Your Opinion Matters at VYSO

VYSO needs you to help promote soccer to the youth of Victoria. Your opinion matters to Victoria Youth Soccer Organization. Help us make the decisions for a successful soccer program.

This begins at the VYSO General Meeting on Thursday, May 12, when the VYSO Board will be elected.  There may be people running for positions who have very different views on how VYSO should be run. Your attendance and vote are important to these decisions.

The VYSO Board’s purpose is to manage the soccer programs.  It is important to have all the positions filled to increase diversity of thought and new ideas to improve the organization.

Parents of young players are ideal for a position on the VYSO Board since the actions of the board will affect their kids the most.

The greatest misconception is that being a board member requires unreasonable amounts of time. Scheduled Board Meetings for the next year are June 13, October 10, and April 10; and at least one board member should be on site during scheduled games.

My goal as president is to keep the board meetings to one hour while still accomplishing the business of VYSO. The needs of VYSO requiring board action and discussion between meetings are conducted remotely via BAND app and email.

When divided between the 8 board members, this load is lighter.

The board positions to be elected are as follows:

PositionBoard Member
PresidentStephen Biles
Vice-PresidentJulie Workman
Recreational Program Vice-PresidentVACANT
Select Program Vice-PresidentTisha Franz
TreasurerVACANT

Players must register before they can attend player evaluations. Registering for player evaluations will also register the player for the 2022/2023 select year.

When registering, parents will see an option to delay the first payment of the player registration fee until June 15th. This allows for players to attend evaluations without requiring a payment.

Registration Fee: $380

This covers the full uniform and all normal seasonal costs including referee fees, player insurance, registering for leagues, etc.

This does not include tournaments, training fees, or STYSA Spring Cups.

Payment plans are available.

Trainer Fees: Coaches have the option to hire a trainer.  The fees typically range from $25-$90 per month.  Please discuss this with the team’s coach if you have any questions.
