REC Games (16)
No. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited from all VYSO activities, at any location, including youth games, practices, scrimmages, camps and other youth events.
No. Pets are not allowed. Service animals are always allowed; however, the animal cannot interfere with soccer games/practices or cause a safety issue for our players or referees. Emotional support animals are not allowed.
No. Parents/fans must sit on the side of the field opposite from their team. No one is allowed at the ends of the fields or near/behind the goals.
No. Players and coaches sit on one side of the field. Parents/fans must sit on the other side of the field directly across from their child’s team.

Smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes and vaping devices, is allowed only in designated parking areas.
Most games will be played on Saturdays. In some divisions, or for makeup games, we could schedule games on Sunday afternoons or weeknights.
Games will be scheduled between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

REC Multiple Children Playing (3)
No. There is no way for us to know when/where teams will practice.

- You can reference the Play Up Eligibility Chart to determine if the younger sibling(s) will be allowed to play up. If a younger player requests to play with an older player, it will be assumed that you understand the younger player will be moved up to play with the older player if the request is approved.
- Both players must be registered, date of birth verified, and full payment received by the deadline posted on the Registration page. Both players must also submit the Special Request Form. Only ONE request may be submitted for each player.
REC Notification From Coach (2)
Most coaches will contact players and parents by email. Please make sure you have the correct email address entered in your GotSport account. Also make sure to check your spam or junk folder in your email.
Spring 2024 Season: Most teams will have a coach in place by Monday, February 10, 2024. The coaches will receive the team roster on that day and will begin to contact players.
- For teams that do not have a coach by February 10, our board members will continue to look for coaches and ask parents to volunteer as the team’s head coach. The team roster will be given to the coach as soon as he/she successfully completes all requirements.
- Coaches generally have three days to contact players after receiving the team roster. If you have not heard from your child’s coach, or a board member, by February 13, please send an email to info@vyso.org
REC Practices (7)
The Board of Directors will accept this request from players that will be on a U08 or younger team. You can submit a request to have your child placed on a team that will hold practice on one (1) specific day. There is no guarantee that your request will be able to be honored. The request will be honored if:
- there is space on a team that has a coach in place when teams are formed, and
- the coach has submitted his/her anticipated practice day(s), and
- the coach has an anticipated practice day that matches the request.
The days, times, and locations are up to each individual coach and he/she could change the practice days after your child has been assigned to the team.
Teams are generally allowed to hold one or two practices per week. At the very beginning of the season, before any games take place, teams may practice up to three times per week.
Your coach will notify you if he/she needs to cancel practice.
Each coach will decide when to hold practice for his/her team. Practices could be any day of the week. You will not find out when your child will practice until after he/she has been placed on a team and a coach is found.

REC Registration (6)
Yes. A payment plan is available with online registration to break the registration fee into two monthly payments if using a credit or debit card. This must be set up by the on-time registration deadline posted on the Registration page.

The last day to register on time for the Spring 2024 REC season is Saturday, January 20, 2024.
Starting Sunday, January 21, there will be a $25 late fee. Children that are registered late will only be accepted if there is an opening on a team.

REC Uniforms and Equipment (8)

Nothing can be printed on the player’s uniform without permission of the VYSO Board of Directors or Executive Director.

Most uniforms will be ready the week of the first game.
You will receive your child’s uniform from his/her coach. The coach will be notified when the team’s uniforms are ready.
Fall Seasons: All players will receive a jersey, shorts, and socks. This is included in the registration fee.

Returning Fall players, that do not request to play on a different team, will receive a $10 discount. They will stay on their fall team. They will not receive a new uniform.
