Banner Sponsors

For more information, please contact the Executive Director, Michelle King, at vysoadmin@gmail.com.

VYSO recently launched a new sponsorship opportunity: Banner Sponsors!

Free REC Registration included with each Banner Sponsor!

Businesses and individuals have the opportunity to help support the Victoria Youth Soccer Organization (VYSO) through sponsorship. With the new Banner Sponsor program, the business or individual purchasing the banner sponsorship can designate one player to receive a discount off his/her REC or Select player registration fee. The business or individual will also have their banner displayed during the soccer season along the fence at the Riverside Soccer Complex.

Spring 2023 Banner Sponsor: $300

Your approved design will be printed on a 3′ x 5′ banner and displayed during the spring soccer season along the fence at Riverside Soccer Complex. The player you specify will be given a code he/she can use during online player registration to take $100 off his/her player registration fee for the spring season. (Can be a REC or select team player.)

Banner Design

You chose the company logo or design for your banner. All submitted designs will be reviewed to ensure they are suitable for display at youth soccer events.

The bottom left corner of every banner will say “Proud sponsor of” VYSO. (1′ x 1′ — see image above)

Display of Banners

The banners will be displayed on the fence, along Red River St, at Riverside Soccer Complex during the VYSO soccer season. For the Spring 2023 soccer season, the banners will be displayed February 25 through May 6.

Use of Funds

Funds generated will be used for player skills training sessions and to help offset operating costs.

Prevention of Dehydration and Heat Illness

Tips to Prevent Dehydration and Heat Illness

  • Sports drinks are an excellent choice for hydration. Athletes can usually find a flavor they like, and the electrolytes (like sodium chloride) will stimulate thirst, help the body hold onto fluid, reduce the chance of cramping, and possibly improve performance.
  • Water is fine too, for events lasting up to about two hours.
  • Avoid any drinks with caffeine or high fructose corn syrup, and no carbonated sodas. “Energy drinks” such as Red Bull contain caffeine and should be avoided.
  • The athlete should have 12-16 ounces of fluid up until about 30 minutes before the game or practice (remember that most sports drinks come in 20 ounce bottles).
  • Keep sipping sports drinks or water during the practice or game, about 4 ounces at a time at the end of periods or halftime.
  • Start re-hydrating within 20 minutes of the conclusion of the game. Research shows that the first 20 minutes are the most efficient time to start refueling. Try to take in 20 ounces; no need to guzzle this down, but once you start drinking try to finish the bottle over the next several minutes.
