Seasonal Game Day Information

There are seven games days each recreational season, all on Saturdays.

  • Each team will be scheduled to play seven games during the season.
  • Depending on the number of teams in each age group, some teams may end up playing two games on one game day, and have a bye (no game) on another game day.

Makeup Games & Reschedules

If games are cancelled due to weather, field conditions, or other reasons, the makeup or rescheduled game may be played on:

  • Saturdays
  • Sunday afternoons
  • Weeknights

  • Coaches are notified when games are changed.

Rain, Bad Weather, Poor Field Conditions

Board members and staff monitor the weather and field conditions each week prior to games and on game days. Games will not be cancelled due to rain unless it is a heavy rain or it creates a safety issue for players. Games will be played in the hot or cold, with modifications for extreme heat or cold. REC Game FAQs


REC Games (16)

No. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited from all VYSO activities, at any location, including youth games, practices, scrimmages, camps and other youth events.

No. Pets are not allowed. Service animals are always allowed; however, the animal cannot interfere with soccer games/practices or cause a safety issue for our players or referees. Emotional support animals are not allowed.

No. Parents/fans must sit on the side of the field opposite from their team. No one is allowed at the ends of the fields or near/behind the goals.

No. Players and coaches sit on one side of the field. Parents/fans must sit on the other side of the field directly across from their child’s team.

When games are cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen reason, we notify coaches and expect them to notify their players.

If REC games are cancelled due to weather, field conditions, or other reasons, the makeup or rescheduled game may be played on Saturdays, Sunday afternoons, and/or weeknights.

Smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes and vaping devices, is allowed only in designated parking areas.

Most games will be played on Saturdays. In some divisions, or for makeup games, we could schedule games on Sunday afternoons or weeknights.

Games will be scheduled between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Spring 2024 Season: last games are Saturday, April 27, 2024.

March 2 Season: first games are Saturday, March 2, 2024.

REC makeup games may be scheduled on another Saturday (team may end up playing more than one game that day), on a Sunday afternoon, or on a weeknight.

For the Spring 2024 season, the game schedules will be posted on the REC Game Days and Schedules page no later than Saturday, February 24.
