Referee Pay Range
Please see below for the pay range, per game, for referees.
Certified Referees
Recreational Games
- U04–U08 games: $14–$16
- U09–U19 center referee: $20–$26
- U09–U19 assistant referee: $15–$17
Select Games
- U11–U19 center referee: $27–62
- U11–U19 assistant referee: $22–$42
Uncertified Referees
Recreational Games: $10–$14
Select Games: uncertified are not scheduled on select games.
Register With VYSO — First Step to Becoming a Referee
If you are interested in refereeing games at VYSO, please click the link below to fill out the registration form.
Please note: individuals must be at least 12 years old prior to registering. All communication with 12-year-olds will be with the parents, so we will need the parent’s contact info on the registration form.
After Approved to Referee VYSO Games — Set Up Your Assignr Account
After you are approved to referee VYSO games, you will be given an account at Assignr. That is the system VYSO uses to assign and pay referees.
You will need to download the Assignr app.
Once you log into your Assignr account, you will need to enter your bank account information and enter your W9 information.

Referee Uniform
Referees will need a uniform, whistle, small notepad, and a pen.
Recreational Games: Referees will wear a yellow referee jersey/shirt, black shorts, and black soccer socks.
Select Games: The official referee uniform is required (yellow jersey). Below are two websites the uniform can be purchased from. Referees also need a set of flags.
