SafeSport — Under 18

Players/Coaches who will turn 18 before the end of the Seasonal Year (July 31, 2026) are required to complete a SafeSport course. For those that are not yet 18, the parent must first sign into GotSport and sign the Parent Acknowledgement before the course can be completed. This page will demonstrate how the parent signs the agreement, and what needs to be completed for the course to be complete.

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 — Parent/Guardian

  • The parent/guardian must login to his/her GotSport account. Click here to login to your GotSport account.
  • Click on ACCOUNT.
  • Locate the FAMILY button and click on it. You can find the FAMILY button in the tabs at the top or on the left hand side.
  • Click on the name of the player that needs to take the SafeSport course.
  • Click on DASHBOARD at the top left.
  • Under “Requirements”, you will see the SafeSport option. Click on DETAILS next to SafeSport.
  • After clicking DETAILS, you will see the Parent Acknowledgement. Enter the parent’s first name, last name, and signature.
  • Click the AGREE checkbox to give the player permission to take the SafeSport course. Then click the SUBMIT button.
  • Log out of your GotSport account.

Step 2 — Player

  • The player must login to his/her GotSport account. Click here to login to your GotSport account.
  • Click on DASHBOARD at the top left.
  • Under “Requirements”, you will see the SafeSport option. Click on DETAILS next to SafeSport.
  • Click the START COURSE button. You will be taken to the SafeSport website.
  • Create your SafeSport account. VERY IMPORTANT: you must use the same name and email address as is shown in your GotSport account. (For example, if your name in GotSport is “Matthew”, you cannot use “Matt” in your SafeSport account, you must use “Matthew”.)
  • The course you need to take is the SafeSport Trained – U.S. Soccer Federation course. It is also referred to as “Core” training.
  • After completing the course (about 90 minutes long), please email your completion certificate to Michelle at execdir@vyso.org.
