Rules & Prize to be Awarded
The VYSO Spring 2024 Photo Contest begins on Saturday, March 30, 2024 and ends Thursday, April 25, 2024. Submissions will not be accepted after the deadline. Voting opens Saturday, April 13, 2024.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to any individual, who is 18 years old or older. Anyone associated with the VYSO Board of Directors, including employees, and their immediate families (children, parents, siblings, and spouses) are not eligible to enter the contest.
ACCEPTABLE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR CONTEST
Photographs of VYSO soccer players and/or coaches taken at Riverside Soccer Complex on game days. The players in the photograph must be wearing their VYSO uniform. The photograph must have been taken in the months of February, March, or April 2024.
All photos must be original work, taken by the entrant. No third party may own or control any materials the photo contains, and the photo must not infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights, or rights of privacy of any entity or person.
The photograph must be in its original state and cannot be altered in any way, including but not limited to removing, adding, reversing, or distorting subjects within the frame.
The VYSO Board of Directors and Executive Director reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to stated contest rules.
HOW TO ENTER
No purchase necessary to enter.
Entries will not be accepted unless submitted via the official contest photo upload entry form. Entries not submitted through the proper entry form will be deleted.
A maximum of (5) photographs may be submitted per individual and/or email address. A separate entry form must be completed for each photograph.
By submitting your photograph for this contest, you grant VYSO a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, and reproduce the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of the website, social media, and soccer programs. VYSO will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
Entrants further grant to VYSO the right to use, publish, and advertise their name, title of photograph, and description of photograph, in connection with the contest.
HOW THE WINNERS WILL BE DETERMINED
There will be two winners of the contest.
The FIRST WINNER will be determined through voting that is open to the public. Voting will take place April 13 through April 25, 2024. Individuals may cast one vote per photograph. The photograph submission that receives the most votes will be declared the FIRST WINNER of the contest.
The SECOND WINNER will be determined through voting by the VYSO Board of Directors. Each board member shall vote for one photograph. The photograph submission that receives the most votes will be declared the second winner of the contest.
The FIRST WINNER is not eligible for the SECOND WINNER prize.
The winners will be contacted via the email address provided during entry. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if a winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If an eligible winner cannot be found for the prize, the prize will not be awarded. All results posted are unofficial until the winners respond to the email notification.
PRIZES
Two prizes will be awarded. Each winner of the contest will receive a $50 VYSO Gift Certificate. The winners of the contest may use the gift certificate towards VYSO player registration fees in the Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 season. The gift certificate may be used for a recreational player or select player.
The winning photographs will be displayed on the VYSO website through November 1, 2024.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
All entrants hold the Victoria Youth Soccer Organization (VYSO), its Board of Directors, officers, employees, and volunteers (the “Indemnified Parties”) harmless from and against all claims of any nature arising in connection with entrant’s participation in the contest and acceptance or use of the prize. The Indemnified Parties are not liable for any costs, damages, injuries, or other claims incurred as a result of entrants’ participation in the contest or winner’s acceptance and usage of a prize. The Indemnified Parties are not responsible for incomplete or misdirected entries, technical or network malfunctions or failures, or causes beyond their control. Entrants are solely responsible for their entries. Entrants may not submit materials that introduce any software viruses, worms or other programs designed to damage software, hardware or telecommunications equipment or are off-topic, partisan-political, contain advertising, nudity, personal attacks or expletives, or is otherwise abusive, threatening, unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, libelous, obscene, false, sexually explicit, or that infringes on the rights of any third party.
The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The VYSO Board of Directors and Executive Director reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at their discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding the winners, the VYSO Board of Directors and Executive Director reserves the right to award or not award the prizes in their sole discretion. The VYSO Board of Directors and Executive Director reserves the right to disqualify any entrant whose entry or conduct appears in any way to: inhibit the enjoyment of others; tamper with the competition; violate these rules or other applicable law or regulation; infringe on the rights of third parties; or act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Decisions of the VYSO Board of Directors and Executive Director are final and binding.
