Special Requests Allowed

The VYSO Board of Directors allows for certain requests to be submitted with regards to team placement of players. No guarantees are given that the requests will be accepted and/or honored.


General Request Requirements

  • The player must register on-time by the deadline posted on the Registration page.
  • The player must be paid in full, or have a payment plan set up, by the on-time registration deadline.
  • The player must have his/her date of birth verified by the on-time registration deadline.
  • The player must submit the Special Request Form.
  • The player must pay the non-refundable $5 Special Request Fee.

Specific Requirements and Info for Each Type of Request

Buddy Requests

All players, all ages, boys and girls, can submit a Buddy Request.

  • Each player must submit a Buddy Request for each other.
  • Neither player can submit another Special Request.
  • If the players were not born in the same year, it may be possible for the younger player to play up into the older player’s age group.
    • You can reference the Play Up Chart to determine if the younger player will be allowed to play up.
    • If a younger player requests to play with an older player, it will be assumed that you understand the younger player will be moved up to play with the older player if the request is approved.
  • There is a limit to the number of buddy requests per team; you can read more in the Standing Rules, section 2.7.c.5.
Sibling Requests

All players, all ages, boys and girls, can submit a Sibling Request.

  • One of the siblings must submit a Sibling Request.
  • If the siblings were not born in the same year, it may be possible for the younger sibling to play up into the older sibling’s age group.
    • You can reference the Play Up Chart to determine if the younger sibling will be allowed to play up.
    • If a younger sibling requests to play with an older sibling, it will be assumed that you understand the younger sibling will be moved up to play with the older sibling if the request is approved.
Not Have a Specific Coach

All players, all ages, boys and girls, can submit a request to NOT have a specific coach.

  • You must give the first and last name of the coach you do not want.
  • There must be a space open on a team in the child’s age group.
Play Up Requests
  • Eligibility to submit a Play Up Request is determined by the player’s age. For example, U04 players are not allowed to play up.
  • Boys and girls can submit a Play Up Request as long as their age makes them eligible.
  • You can reference the Play Up Chart to determine if the player will be allowed to play up.
  • The player cannot move up more than one age level.
Girl Play on a Boy’s Team
  • All girls are eligible to submit a Request to Play On a Boy’s Team, provided she will not play up more than one age level.
  • You can reference the Play Up Chart to determine if the girl will be allowed to play up.
